Faculty and Staff Testimonials

Make a Gift

Here is what some of our Georgia State employees have to say about giving back to the university through the Faculty, Staff & Retiree Campaign.

Dr. Fred Grant Dr. Frederic “Fred” Grant
College Administrative Officer
School of Public Health

I am proud to be a graduate of Georgia State University. I received my MBA in 1980 and was immediately recruited (by Lockheed) because my educational experience gave me a nationally recognized degree with ‘job ready’ skills. I actively contribute to GSU because of its ability to transform lives—it is a great investment. My eldest son is also a GSU graduate (Film & Video, 2010) which continues our legacy.”

“I give because both the business school and the law school provided me with excellent training and experience, and the law school, through my faculty position, has provided the platform and support to enable me to actualize a dream—the Health Law Partnership and the Health Law Partnership Legal Services Clinic.”

Associate Professor Emerita
Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions

Giving and getting are so connected. I give and get at the same time. Each time I walk past a current student and we smile at each other, I wonder if my small gifts through the Women’s Philanthropy Initiative are helping him/her be an active part of our GSU community. I also endowed a travel fund for students and hear back from recipients on the excitement of representing GSU and presenting their research findings at meetings. Again, I get the thrill of being a part of the GSU community, even in retirement, with my gift.”
